Indoor music events in England being allowed to resume has been postponed
Lockdown restrictions have been extended to August 15 at the earliest
UK prime minister Boris Johnson has announced that indoor gigs and music events being allowed to resume has been postponed.
In July it was reported that indoor gigs would be able to return from August 1, but a U-turn has been made on easing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.

Now Boris has said anything that was due to be eased on August 1 will now not change until August 15 at the earliest. This means wedding receptions with up to 30 people won't take place and bowling alleys, casinos and ice skating rinks won't reopen.
This comes after singer Frank Turner performed at the Clapham Grand to a crowd of less than 20 per cent of the venue's capacity. Only 200 people were able to attend, where the venue usually allows up to 1250 people.

Ally Wolf, the venue's manager, said the socially distanced gig is "not a financial model that the industry can remotely rely upon to get to be sustainable".
