Illegal rave organisers face fines of up to £10,000 under new rules
The UK government are cracking down on the hundreds of illegal raves that are taking place across the country
Organisers of illegal raves run the risk of being fined up to £10,000 under new rules imposed by the UK government.
The fines will apply to anyone hosting illegal gatherings of 30 or more people.
The announcement comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson eases lockdown restrictions in England, allowing music venues to reopen from Saturday and greenlighting the trial of sporting events in front of socially distanced audiences.

It also comes amidst a rave revolution in which young people across the UK are breaking lockdown to attend illegal parties in light of nightclubs being closed and festivals being cancelled for the foreseeable.
The Evening Standard reports that West Midlands Police shut down 125 parties last weekend and that the Metropolitan Police were aware of 500 parties in London in one month.

The police are currently increasing patrols of potential illegal rave 'hotspots' and will be explaining current regulations to people found to be attending raves and asking them to return home.
While organisers will face the brunt of any legal action, it's reported that fines will be issued to those attending an illegal rave only as a "last resort".
