“Hudson Mohawke is a lifelong fan of Starlight Express, so I knew he would be the perfect fit to rework and add his own spin to ‘The Race’,” says Andrew Lloyd Webber. “It’s a truly wonderful re-imagination of the track.”
The Scottish producer brings his trademark sense of buoyancy and bombast to the track.
Starlight Express is a fantasy musical set to a dynamic rock-pop soundtrack. It tells the story of an anthropomorphised toy set, with a steam train called Rusty competing in a race against electric and diesel locomotives to be crowned the fastest enginge in the world, and is performed on roller skates.
