Hudson Mohawke teams up with Wimbledon for 2023 tournament's official track

Hudson Mohawke has just released the official Wimbledon 2023 track, 'Pushing On (Always Like Never Before)'.

The Glasgow-born producer created the track for the tennis tournament's official 2023 trailer, Always Like Never Before, which celebrates the sport's "golden era" heroes such as Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal, as well new stars Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz.

The track, which is inspired by "the magic of SW19" and features vocals from GiGi Grombacher, can be heard over rousing archive footage and photography from past tournaments.

The trailer, which has been released by the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), is set to be shown on TV ahead of tournament, which kicks off with qualifying rounds on June 26 and moves on to the main event on July 4.

Hud Mo said the opportunity to be part of the Wimbledon 2023 trailer "feels surreal," adding “I’ve been watching Wimbledon on TV since I was a young boy."

"We’re seeing a new wave of legends define history in the tennis world, and I wanted to make a soundtrack that reflected this juncture and the tantalising mood that comes with it – it’s something that’s hard to put your finger on but you can just feel it in your chest."

He adds: "I’ve used terms such as ‘fearless’, ‘strong’, ‘stand my ground’ and ‘holding on’ in the vocals, to echo the nature of competitive sport and just how hungry this next generation of stars is for success.”
