There's now a footwork version of viral game 'Heardle'

A new version of the viral game 'Heardle' has been made for footwork lovers, containing tracks from across the genre for fans to guess in the shortest time they can.
Footwork Heardle, created by Twitter user FootworkMonitor and Sophie Morrison, is similar to Heardle in that it plays a short opening clip from the tune for users to recognise. Every day, a new song will be made available for avid fans to try and figure out.

Players are given six attempts, the same amount of attempts as in both the original Heardle and trendsetter game Wordle, to guess the Footwork Heardle song of the day. Each song clipping gets progressively longer to try and give the player more to work with.
Don't worry, you can also share your Footwork Heardle answers online like you can share your Heardle and Wordle answers, so your Twitter followers will know all about your footwork music expertise (or lack of).
Footwork fans and DJs have already started sharing their scores and excitement over this new game, with SHERELLE tweeting: "This REMINDED me to put this tune in my set for Glastonbury" alongside a link showing her glowing score of one try.
Footwork was pioneered by the likes of RP Boo, DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, and the larger Teklife group in Chicago in the late 1990s.
The high-bpm genre originates from ghetto house. Footwork's sounds were eventually spread over the world by labels like Hyperdub and Planet Mu — all of which continue to be relevant names in today's dance music landscape.

Since Heardle's inception in March, various spin-offs of the game have been launched - from ones dedicated to entire eras such as the 80s to others dedicated to an entire artist such as Prince and Taylor Swift.
This version is one of the only available for dance music - potentially setting the precedent for other genres within the category.
