Fever Ray announces new album ‘Radical Romantics’
‘Radical Romantics’ will be released March 10 featuring fresh single ‘Carbon Dioxide’
Fever Ray, real name Karin Dreijer, has announced their upcoming album ‘Radical Romantics’, will be released next year on March 10 2023.
It is the Swedish singer and producer’s first LP since 2017’s ‘Plunge’, which Dreijer has been working on since 2019, with the 10-tracker to be released via Rabid Records.
The lead single from the album ‘Carbon Dioxide’ is out now, which is an upbeat electro-pop tune co-produced by experimental producer Vessel.

Talking about the song, Vessel said: “‘Carbon Dioxide’, a compound which, being defined by its bond with oxygen, seems to me like a neat chemical expression of the essential compassion that the conditions for life on our planet depend.”
Dreijer previously formed one half of electronic music duo The Knife, along with their brother Olof Dreijer. Olof has contributed to the album, co-writing and co-producing ‘What They Call Us’ – the forthcoming album opener which was released last month.
The three songs on ‘Radical Romantics’ that Olof and Karin have worked together on form the first time that the siblings have produced and written music with each other in eight years.

Other musicians who have collaborated with Dreijer on the album include techno producer Peder Mannerfelt, Portuguese DJ and producer Nídia and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails.
‘Radical Romantics’ will be Dreijer’s third studio album, following the previously mentioned ‘Plunge’, and their debut self-titled album ‘Fever Ray’, which was released in 2009.
The Knife’s final record ‘Shaking the Habitual’, was released in 2013 and played their final ever show eight years ago in November 2014 in Iceland at Reykjavík’s Iceland Airwaves.
