Dr. Martens links with A Bathing Ape to celebrate 60 years of the Original Boot

The British brand are collaborating with 12 other labels this year to celebrate the anniversary

The iconic Dr. Martens Original boot turns 60 this year, and to celebrate they’re teaming up with twelve world-renowned brands across 2020.

To kick-off the celebrations they’ve linked with Japan’s street wear brand A Bathing Ape to re-imagine the 1460 silhouette.

BAPE (A Bathing Ape) was founded in 1993 in Tokyo, Japan. Theur roots originate from the Harajuku scene of the early 90s, their signature ‘BAPE 1st Camo’ became a legendary status symbol.

BAPE has often looked to authentic British heritage for inspiration. For the 1460 Remastered project, they’ve fused Dr. Marten’s classic DNA with their legendary camouflage, creating a partnership that pays tribute to the history of both brands.

The special edition 8-eye boot features a black smooth leather front, contrasting with a green BAPE 1st Camo upper to present the best of both brands. The infamous BAPE STA logo cuts through the midsection of the boot, with a yellow BAPE head logo adding a finishing detail to the heel-loop.
