Carl Cox to make return to Space for Riccione launch party

Oh yes, oh yes! The Ibiza legend will be launching Space Riccione in Italy this summer

Carl Cox will be headlining the opening of Space’s new superclub in Riccione, Italy, this summer.

From 2001, the Ibiza legend held a 15-year-long residency at Space Ibiza and now he will be unveiling the return of Space in its new home of Italy with a hybrid live set.

Space Riccione is situated in Italy’s Eastern Riviera and will be kicking off this global expansion with a day-to-night “opening fiesta”.

The club is described as a “new generation” for Space yet will include the same layout of the Ibiza club with the Arena, Garden, Terrace, and Lounge.

Space Ibiza closed in 2016 after almost three decades of parties, with a closing party that saw sets from Maceo Plex, Tale of Us, Darius Syrossian and of course, Carl Cox.

In an interview with Mixmag in 2019, Cox shared: "If we do get an opportunity to get that license, then I will say 100% that the club's coming back."

Renowned owner of the Space brand, Pepe Roselló shares: "We are happy to continue 27 years of Space Ibiza history here in Riccione, an iconic place that represents entertainment.”

He continues: "Love for music and mutual respect, the main characteristics of all our events, will also be central to this new experience, which we all believe in so much."

Fabrizio De Meis, COO of Space Riccione says: “The new era of Space will be a beautiful and unique experience. We’re excited to reveal our vision of a state-of-the-art, club-meets-festival venue”.

Space Riccione’s opening party with Carl Cox will take place on June 2. Tickets are yet to go on sale.
