Caribou announces sixth studio album ‘Honey’ for release this autumn

The Canadian producer has also shared a fourth single from the album, ‘Come Find Me’, in the lead up to its release

Caribou has announced the release of his sixth studio album, ‘Honey’, set to land via Merge Records on October 4, 2024.

‘Come Find Me’, the latest single from the album, joins three previously released tracks including 'Honey’ which landed in late spring, and ‘Broke My Heart’ and ‘Volume’ over the summer.

Following the arrival of the album, Caribou, AKA Dan Snaith, will embark on a North American tour, starting in Vancouver on November 8 and ending in Montreal on November 25.

Along the way, Snaith will make stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and New York, and will be joined by Yunè Pinku and Joy Orbison on some of the shows.

The latest single, 'Come Find Me' – complete with typically quirky Caribou music video – is a euphoric dance track with French touch sensibilities, filled with warming synth chords that surge up and then drop back down again, carried along by a seductive pop vocal.

‘Honey’ marks Snaith’s first studio album as Caribou since 2020 following more recent work under his alternative alias Daphni, releasing dancefloor-focused track ‘Cherry’ in 2022.

Title track 'Honey', released in April of this year, marked Caribou’s first single in two years.

The return to his Caribou alias has brought back a softer tone of his earlier production style, which Snaith described to Mixmag in 2020 as “music that wants to comfort, reassure and be supportive”.

However, he hasn't completely left behind his Daphni alter-ego, instead finding himself somewhere in between the two. According to a press release, recent tracks hope to "grab and move you like Daphni", before “cradling and uplifting you like Caribou”.

Speaking about his creative process, Snaith says that one thing has never changed since he started making music: “[I’m] still chasing that thrill of when something hits really hard, and I find myself jumping up and down or the hairs standing up on my arms in excitement."

"How lucky am I that that’s never gone away? That the chance of making something new and exciting is still as exhilarating as ever, and as much fun as ever,” he says.
