BBC Three Counties offering local DJs the chance to get a weekly mixtape on BBC Sounds

Edward Adoo is making space on his show for DJs who spin at home, and locally known DJs

Local DJs in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire could get a chance to get their mixes heard on the radio and on BBC Sounds.

The station is offering DJs who spin at home, as well as local and well-known DJs, a weekly mixtape to share their favourite Black music tunes.

DJs may submit mixes of their favourite soul, jazz, r 'n' b , house, hip hop, reggae, and drum 'n' bass records of all time on 'The 15-minute mixtape,' which airs on Sunday nights at 9.45:PM.

BBC presenter Edward Adoo, who is hosting the '15-minute mixtape' show, says: "The 15-minute mixtape will provide a weekly platform to local DJs, from the unknown to undiscovered, who hardly get any recognition for their great work.

"It will give DJs a chance to get their mixes aired to a wider audience by sharing their favourite Black Music tracks of all time."

Adding to this, Laura Moss, Executive Editor of BBC Three Counties Radio said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to champion local DJ’s from across Beds, Herts, Bucks and Northants.

"This area is full of amazing talent and there’s nothing better than being able to celebrate that, giving DJ’s an even bigger platform to reach out to more people and share great tracks in the mix.”
