Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is set to play a DJ set in Ancoats

He's set to bring "Manchester classics" to the crowd at Ramona

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham will take to the decks next month for a special show at Ancoats venue Ramona.

The venue, known for selling Detroit pizza and cocktails, is excited to welcome the mayor to spin some tracks — promising "Manchester classics" from the former MP for Leigh.

Writing on Instagram Ramona said: "Yes the mayor! He swings in for pizza quite a bit so we asked him if he fancied Djing, He said…He’d absolutely love to! Expect lots of New Order, Manchester classics and 90s summer Jams. Bring the party @andyburnhamgm you got this."

The mayor will be playing from 8:PM, and the set is also broadcasting on Mixcloud.

This won't be the first time Burnham, who has served as Mayor of Greater Manchester since 2017, has showed off his mixing skills

During the pandemic, he competed in a DJ battle against Liverpool Mayor Steve Rotheram to raise money for charity through the United We Stream project, created by Parklife and Warehouse Project's Sacha Lord.

Additionally, he has previously done a set in the original Jimmy's venue in Manchester's renowned Northern Quarter. He has also been spotted performing at Electrik in Chorlton as part of their weekly One Deck session.

Also billed to play at Ramona next month are Bill Brewster, Mikey D.O.N, Mica Millar and Interplanetary Criminal.
