A proper Cityfox takeover with the legendary duo
The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This week Mixmag proudly welcomed Adriatique for a special Cityfox takeover.
Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer met in 2008 to create one of the most iconic duos in modern electronic dance music. As Adriatique, the pair formed the perfect blend of Detroit and European Techno and proceeded to release on major labels like Cityfox, Culprit, Wolf & Lamb and Dynamic. This year's release, the 'Soul Valley' EP, showcased the twosome's classic spiritual house style.
This past weekend, Adriatique performed alongside Thugfucker, Frank & Tony and more at CItyfox for the highly anticipated summer 2016 debut of The Brooklyn Mirage. The newly renovated space is complete with lounges and outlets, adorned with tropical garden lounges and amped with Cityfox's signature KV2 sound system.
On warm up duties for Monday's Lab NYC was Mixmag's own Music Editor, Funster. Funster arrived all the way from the UK, making his New York City debut and spinning an eclectic, finely tuned repertoire of curated tracks.
