Nicole Kidman parties at New York club BASEMENT in erotic thriller film Babygirl
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the techno venue upon the release of the Halina Reijn-directed flick last week
Eagle-eyed cinema-goers have identified an underground dance music institution within the recently released A24 erotic thriller Babygirl.
It was spotted in a scene where the protagonist Romy, played by Nicole Kidman, looks for her younger lover, Samuel - AKA Harris Dickinson - within the dark recesses of a sweaty nightclub. The real-life location was, in fact, New York's infamous techno hot spot, BASEMENT.

A number of social media users have identified the Queens-based techno spot, that is located in the basement of arts hub the Knockdown Center, with Twitter user @izzio123 writing in August 2024: "I only want to see Babygirl bc I’m told Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson go to Basement in it"
While user @fashionfaguette posted a clip that highlights BASEMENT's signature dimly-lit hallway with the caption: "Nicole Kidman @ Basement in babygirl….. I - Yes you can have a wristband! You are giving"

Babygirl debuted on Boxing Day in the UK and has garnered positive reviews in the days since its release.
Nicole Kidman may have hinted at a rave connection to the new film back in December on the red carpet of the GQ Awards in London.

The Australian star responded to interviewer Amelia Dimoldenberg's question "Do you like to party?" with the answer "i'm a small party person, I do like a rave though."
