LEGO recreation of Daft Punk Alive 2007 concert could become official product

The design, made by a fan, has been submitted to LEGO’s ideas board for consideration

You can now vote for a LEGO recreation of Daft Punk’s ‘Alive’ 2007 concert to become an official product.

The design, created by Daft Punk fan and LEGO fanatic Patrick Harboun who goes by the alias RobotRock, was submitted to LEGO’s ideas board on October 4, and currently has more than 1,200 supporters.

“Four years ago, this set won the Grand Prize in the global LEGO competition Music To Our Ears!, though it wasn’t selected to become an official set,” Harboun wrote in the design's description.

“But now we’re feeling inspired to ‘Get Lucky’ and try ‘One More Time’ after seeing the Daft Punk making their LEGO debut in the upcoming film Piece By Piece, robot-rocking their amazing helmets alongside Pharrell Williams.”

The set is inspired by the duo’s famous ‘Alive’ concert, recorded at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy arena in Paris in 2007, and features a recreation of the legendary pyramid-shaped stage design.

The project first began in 2020 as a “fun father-son collaboration”, Harboun explains, which grew into “something epic as we found ourselves needing a creative escape during lockdown.”

“Both huge Daft Punk fans, this build is a fusion of two passions. I spent my teenage years listening to ‘Homework’ on my Walkman, while my son’s first favorite baby song was ‘Get Lucky’,” he says.

The design features 2,000 pieces, and uses a “rotating box of transparent bricks inside the pyramid” powered by a motor with a set of lights inside to create the colour-changing stage design. “Lego bricks are rarely used for triangular shapes, so we had to find creative ways to make all those angles click,” he said.

“If you love Daft Punk and LEGO as much as we do, show us some ‘Digital Love’ by voting to make this set a reality!”
