Spotify reaches 30 million subscriptions
Spotify reveals it’s on top
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has announced via Twitter that the music streaming company now has 30 million paid subscribers.
It's reported to have an average of 10 million new subscriptions a year in comparison to the 11 million that Apple Music has obtained during its nine month existence. The news of Spotify’s relatively high and quick rising numbers follows announcements like Amazon potentially entering the streaming market.
We have 30 million @Spotify subscribers, but none of them are in Cuba ... yet. So cool to see Cuba opening up! https://t.co/nZa67f0l8U

This is another mark of the industry nudging ever so closer to an inevitable face off for music streaming dominance.
