Australia's largest winter festival Splendour in the Grass has announced its 2016 line-up, featuring some big dance music drawcards.

After getting the internet buzzing yesterday when they updated their social media accounts and website with an intriguing new image, The Avalanches will play their only Australian show at the Byron Bay festival. The group, whose only album, 2000's 'Since I Left You', is considered a sample-based masterpiece, have been teasing a return for about the past 10 years.

Joining them will be Flume (pictured), What So Not, Duke Dumont, Hayden James, Snakehips, James Blake, Roland Tings, Kllo, Motez and Amateur Dance among the electronic acts. The Cure and The Strokes are headlining.

Splendour in the Grass takes place from July 22 to 24 near Byron Bay, Australia. Tickets go on sale 9am Thursday April 21. For the full line-up and more information, head here.
