Aptly inspired by Detroit.

Detroit instrumentalist and producer Shigeto has just announced a new album to drop on October 6.

'The New Monday' will be producer Zachary Saginaw's first full-length release in four years, arriving on Matthew Dear's mainstay imprint Ghostly International.

The upcoming album is inspired by the weekly Detroit event series the artist helps curate, 'Monday is The New Monday'.

This time around, production strays away from Saginaw's usual hip-hop and jazz based flavor, leaning closer into the dance music genre.

Shigeto, who describes the release as inspired by the "community of Detroit", has been an integral part of Mixmag's Smirnoff Sound Collective initiative, which brings together artists for all around the world to celebrate diversity in electronic music.

Listen to a preview of Shigeto's 'The New Monday' with the opening track 'Detroit Part II' below.
