Richie Hawtin is behind recent Plus 8 white labels
Hard Wax had stocked a new release by an "unknown artist"
After Berlin record store Hard Wax started stocking anonymous releases from Plus 8 in October, speculation rose about the producer responsible for the white labels.
Now the mystery has been solved, with Richie Hawtin taking credit for the three tracks on the label he founded with John Acquaviva in the early 1990s.
Hawtin revealed himself in a new documentary for EB.TV, in which he discusses putting out limited edition vinyl through Hard Wax, naming the Plus 8 '25/2' tracks.
He also says the records - credited to his Plastikman, Childsplay and Robotman aliases - are part of a compilation, with the next installment forecast to land on December 11.
