Richie Hawtin embarks on a tour to introduce his new PLAYdifferently mixer
An iconic line-up of artists presents the future of DJ technology
Richie Hawtin and an elite team of friends are about to commence a global journey, the 'Prototypes Tour', to introduce the new PLAYdifferently mixer to the world.
Hawtin has been working on the project for some years now and recently previewed the technology at the NAMM Convention. With Chris Liebing, Joris Voorn, Maceo Plex, Joseph Capriati, DJ Tennis, Loco Dice, Dubfire, Ean Golden, The Martinez Brothers and other esteemed artists at his side, Richie will tour the world using only his avant-garde machinery.
The PLAYdifferently venture is in collaboration with Allen & Heath and the Audiotonix group, with Hawtin also exclusively partnering with Andy Rigby-Jones on the state-of-the-art tech. Recently, the techno producer demonstrated his device with Tiga, Mathew Dettman, Liebing and Josh Wink in a video that proved its potential to forge and drive the community. Over the past two years, Hawtin has been experimenting with the PLAYdifferently mixer, hitting major outlets like Glastonbury Festival, ENTER.Ibiza and BBC Radio 1.
The PLAYdifferently 'Prototypes Tour' will kick off in Los Angeles on March 14 and progress through a number of global cities, including a special discussion panel with Hawtin and Resident Advisor at SXSW and hosted stages at Movement Detroit and Awakenings Amsterdam.
