Premiere: Mano Le Tough's emotive remix of ‘Solar Storm’ by Phil Kieran
Expanding the hypnotic soundscape
Phil Kieran revists material from his latest album titled ‘Blinded By The Sun’ by releasing a collection of remixes, including the emotive and rhythmic interpretation of ‘Solar Storm’ by Mano Le Tough.
Tapping Mano Le Tough for a remix was an obvious choice for Kieran, as he chose artists who personally influenced him to transform the album’s material, plus he’s a fellow compatriot of Ireland. Kieran states, “I made a wish list of who I wanted and to my surprise it all seemed to come together very quickly”.
The resulting remix of ‘Solar Storm’ is a steadily building sonic display of emotive textures, the type of material fans of Mano Le Tough have grown accustomed to over the years. Various percussive rhythms build up as tones lead into a synth crescendo met with a deep and raspy vocal. That, paired with the driving bass drum, makes for a hypnotic club track.
Also found on 'Blinded By The Sun' (Remixes #2), which is set for release via Hot Creatiions on June 23, are remixes by Matthew Herbert and David Holmes. Purchase here
