Premiere: Half Nelson adds a burning house cut to Breaker Breaker's ranks
The London label's catalogue grows with another gem
London label Breaker Breaker's just two releases in, but we're optimistic it'll be on our radar for quite a while if the material so far is anything to go by. Ross From Friends kicked things off with the crisp house of 'Alex Brown' and R.G.L followed it up with a three-track 12" containing the joyous 'S.U.G.A' earlier this year.
Bristol-based Half Nelson's the next artist onboard, "utilising a meld of hardware, old tape recorders and original instrumentation" on 'First Step', due out on March 31.
The first two minutes of 'Day One And Day Two' dupes you into thinking you're in for a steady ride of dubbed out house, but a warped, mumbling vocal tees up the entrance of a verocious, low-pitched synths that completely flips it on its head.
'First Step' is out via Breaker Breaker on March 31. Pre-order it here
