Premiere: DJ Pierre releases posthumous DJ Spank Spank track 'Computer Acid'

Chicago acid house originator DJ Pierre has compiled a collection of music for his 'Acid 88' compilation dedicated to the memory of his late Phuture partner DJ Spank Spank, with a posthumous track included aptly titled 'Computer Acid'.

DJ Spank Spank, who was a co-founder of the influential acid house group Phuture, passed away in September 2016, leaving behind a legacy that inspired a sub-genre and lay the foundation for innovators to build upon.

‘Computer Acid’, which is a collaboration between DJ Spank Spank and Maestrosis, is an instant classic for the acid heads, with unmistakable acid stabs complemented by distorted vocals, a steady beat and sweeping atmospherics.

The ‘Acid 88’ compilation, which is also dedicated to respected acid producer Andreas Gehm, who also died this year, is filled with acid-focused tracks by the industry’s leading acid producers. Also found on the compilation are tracks by Luke Vibert, Tyree Cooper, Mr. C, Posthuman, K Alexi Shelby and more.

Listen to ‘Computer Acid’ below and look for the compilation to be released on December 9 via Afro Acid’s Jack Trax.
