Premiere: Danny Howard channels the early rave scene on 'Holla'
Also marking his debut on Shadow Child and Kry Wolf's Food imprint
In the midst of an already pumping summer season, British artist and BBC Radio 1 host Danny Howard has delivered his first EP of the year.
The two track release will also mark Danny's debut on on Shadow Child and Kry Wolf's Food imprint. "The EP itself is a bit of a throwback," he explains. "'Holla' in particular was inspired by the 90s illegal warehouse rave scene! It was my older brother who introduced me to electronic music with old tape packs of sets recorded at these events, so for the first in lots of new music coming from me, I wanted to kick off with a sound that represents where it all started."
'Holla' is a looping, low-end track that embodies that hypnotic, yet grooving sound of the early rave scene, as well as the kind of track that can capture and lift an entire dance floor in Ibiza in one swift, continuous movement.
Danny's two-track EP is out on Food on June 30.
