Premiere: Cottam’s ‘Locked In The Groove’ is a feel-good hypnotiser

Since 2009, Paul Cottam has been building up a fine discography, channelling hip hop, house and disco elements into exultant sample-based tracks, winning admiration from the likes of Moodymann and Gerd Janson.

Earlier this year he debuted on Fat Cat Records sub-label FCR with the deep, grooving ‘I Can’t Carry On’, and now he’s back on the imprint, lining up a three-track EP for release on January 26.

A-side cut ‘Locked In The Groove’ unfolds over the course nearly 11 minutes. Led by a bumping bassline, the track sparkles with infectious energy, primed to get dancers locked into a zone of blissed-out movement. Listen below.
