Techno don Paul Kalkbrenner drifts back toward the melodic realm with his remix of Leonard Cohen’s ‘You Want It Darker’, a new anthemic ballad.

The Berlin-based producer initially debuted his remix at Lollapalooza Berlin last month and since then has been touring the world with stops in Chile and Argentina still to come.

Although the original possesses a solemn tone, the title of the song is quite ironic with regards to Paul Kalkbrenner’s rendition as it flips the track with a joyous and uplifting motif, not necessarily dark at all.

The remix is out now via Sony Music while Leonard Cohen’s album ‘You Want It Darker’ is set for release on October 21.
