BBC Asian Network has announced a new residency show championing a selection of scene stars.

Nabihah Iqbal, DJ Rugrat, DJ SHRAII and Manara have all been confirmed as the show’s first residents.

The four DJs will rotate on a weekly basis from May 19 through to November 2018, leading the way for the first wave of Saturday night broadcasts.

Speaking on the show via a press statement, Ninja Tune mainstay Nabihah Iqbal explained, “I'm really excited about joining the BBC Asian Network Residency. I'm looking forward to sharing music from across Asia and the world, as well playing emerging artists inspired by their South Asian heritage."

Likewise Night Slugs and Fade to Mind affiliate Manara said, “It’s an honour to bring my sound to the legendary BBC Asian Network. I'm really excited to showcase artists from around the world and to celebrate club music with a desi twist.”

The new BBC Asian Network Residency show kicks off on May 19th at 10pm with a three-hour set from London club scene favourite Manara. DJ SHRAII, Nabihah Iqbal and DJ Rugrat will then round off the month with their own eclectic shows before the schedule rotates back to the beginning.
