British music technology start-up Roli has unveiled Pharrell Williams as its Chief Creative Officer.

The announcement at Hackney Empire was made during a talk between Pharrell and Roli founder Roland Lamb. The first collaboration between the pair will be the ‘Happy by Pharrell’ studio pack available through Roli’s ‘Noise’ app.

The London-based company has been turning heads with its game-changing instruments since the launch of the Seaboard Rise in 2015, a keyboard-like device which allows you to pitch-bend notes and imitate everything from a bass guitar to a cello.

Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting projects from this pairing in the near future. Unfortunately, there’s been no reports as of yet of how good Pharrell’s tea-making capabilities are at the company’s Hackney office.
