Melbourne is getting a new 5000-capacity event space
B3 will launch with three events in 2018
New 5000-capacity event space 'B3' will be unveiled in Melbourne next year.
Promoter Novel has kept details scarce in its first announcement, only hinting the basement-car-park-look space was close to the city centre, and offering a glimpse at its potential through a short teaser video.
Novel director Daniel Teuma said: "One aspect sorely lacking in Melbourne’s nightlife is an inner-city location suitable for large-scale, indoor events. We are extremely confident that we have found the right venue to fill that gap."
"To ensure each occasion is truly special, B3 will only host three events per year and feature artists who have transcended their respective niches to become full-blown scene icons."
The venue's sound will be provided by Full Throttle, the team responsible for overseeing sound at Australian festivals Rainbow Serpent, Subsonic, Let Them Eat Cake, Strawberry Field and Pitch Music & Arts.
Lighting and installations will be overseen by Colourblind and John Fish.
