Goldie is presenting the 2017 Turner Prize
The awards will be broadcast via the BBC on December 5
Artist, musician and drum ’n’ bass legend Goldie will present this year’s prestigious Turner Prize, which will be broadcast live via the BBC.
The awards, which have previously been presented by the likes of Yoko Ono, Lauren Laverne and Madonna will be held on December 5.
On the award, the DJ said: “The Turner Prize is one of the most important art prizes, whether outrageous, curious or challenging, it’s always relevant, as demonstrated by these works by all the artists on the shortlist and I cannot wait to find out who the winner is.
"Hull is having a storming year as UK City of Culture and I’m really looking forward to getting to see more of it myself”.
The artists shortlisted for the award include Andrea Buttner, Rosalind Nashashibi, Lubaina Himid and Hurvin Anderson. Their work will be displayed at Hull’s Ferens Art Gallery until January 7 next year.
