Essential: Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones twist Cardi B's ‘Bodak Yellow’ into an eerie club cut
The powerhouse pair create magic once again
Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones are known for their weird, warped and wonderful visions of electronic utopianism.
As co-founders of the immersive, visual-audio platform Fractal Fantasy, they mould dancefloors into scenes of sci-fi unease, and create visual content that borders on the teetering edges of reality. Now, they've turned their attention to the unfiltered Bronx rapper Cardi B, with a feverish flip of her tune ‘Bodak Yellow’.
The edit harnesses the essence of the original Cardi B cut. Her voice - poignant and proud - is only elevated to eerie new heights by the pairs sonic experimentations. It was produced for the pairs live sets, combining the commanding confidence of Cardi with the choir-like connotations heard most recently in Sinjin’s mind-bending ‘First Opus’ release.
