Essential: Robert Hood's Dekmantel podcast

The mighty Robert Hood has turned in a mix for Amsterdam label Dekmantel and it features a number of cuts off his upcoming album.

Hood needs no introduction. Not only is he a techno originator who pioneered the genre alongside Jeff Mills and Underground Resistance; he remains a prolific producer and consistent touring act.

This hour-long mix for Dekmantel features tracks off Hood’s upcoming album, 'Paradym Shift', which is set for release on Dekmantel in late May. It is the first of his records since 2012 to feature Hood’s full name and will be Dekmantel’s 50th release.

On this hour-long mix Hood’s focus has shifted away from his gospel-tinged Floorplan alias and towards the hard as nails minimal sound that characterised his earliest productions.

Robert Hood’s M-Plant is one of Mixmag’s most influential techno labels of the decade. After years of consistent releases as Robert Hood, the Detroit-born artist launched M-Plant in 1994 and kicked of his Floorplan alias two years later with Funky Souls. Hood relaunched the label in 2009 and has contributed nearly all the releases thus far.
