DJ Harvey will return to Ibiza this summer for his Mercury Rising residency at Pikes.
It’s the DJ’s third consecutive residency at the venue hidden in the Ibiza hills and will run for eight weeks from August 7 to September 25.
DJ Harvey has also been named the club’s Cultural Attaché, a role that will see him have a hand in everything from the installation of new lighting and soundsystems, event programming, working on the menu with the chef and even choosing flower arrangements.
He said: “So many people say ‘Oh I don’t give a fuck what people think’ and I’m the complete opposite of that. I give a fuck.
“Cultural Attaché is a broad term for basically being a lot more involved. I do a lot of things that most DJs don’t consider. Putting a bit more effort and care into the whole thing and going beyond the natural call of duty of a DJ and really being involved in all aspects of the evenings entertainment. I do take great care in compiling the best music that I possibly can for the night that portrays my idea of a hedonistic Balearic house party.”
In addition to announcing his return to the white isle, DJ Harvey will also spearhead the launch of Pike Records on which he is expected to release his Mercury Rising compilation.
