Discogs to launch iOS and Android apps
The world's biggest vinyl database is finally going mobile
Discogs has announced that it is to launch a mobile app for iOS and Android in the first quarter of 2016.
The popular vinyl cataloguing and marketplace website has become an essential tool for DJs and music fans worldwide, with a mobile platform long overdue.
Options are out there currently in the form of MilkCrate for iOS and Discollector on Android, but this will be the first official Discogs app.
Features set to be included are the ability to catalogue collections, view marketplace prices, add to want lists, and search the database for music. Users will be able to sync their existing accounts with the app.
It seems however that it will not be possible to contact sellers or buy vinyl through the app, with these actions still needing to be completed on the website.
