Berlin Community Radio has announced applications are open for its Incubator scheme which aims to promote underrepresented and marginalised creative voices based in the German capital.

BCR has outlined that it hopes the Incubator "will help to not only diversify the scene but most importantly bring forward some of the most talented artists creating right now” by moving the spotlight towards those artists who come from culturally rich communities, who often lack the visibility and presence in the mainstream electronic music industry.”

NTS Radio’s Tabitha Thorlu-Bangura, Discwoman co-founder Frankie Hutchinson, Anu Ambasna of Rhythm Section, and BCR staff Yuko Asanuma, Anastazja Moser and Sarah Miles will judge the applicants and pick four winners at the end of May.

Among the prizes the chosen residents will receive are a month long BCR radio residency, a booking to perform live at BCR’s Club Of The Month, an Ableton Live 9 full license and individual specialist training, a press photo shoot, international PR and press campaign and one resident will get the opportunity to be invited to an artist residency program in Sapporo city, Japan, conducted by Open Port Club in late Summer.

Applications are open until midnight on May 22. Head to Berlin Community Radio’s website for further details and to apply to the scheme.
