BEARCAT and Venus X host Brooklyn fundraiser to support Oakland fire victims
New York reaches out a helping hand in response to the devastating California tragedy
Over the weekend tragic news surfaced regarding a fire that broke out during a California warehouse party.
The horrifying incident resulted in many of the event's attendees trapped inside the venue, taking a rising toll of 36 lives with the search ongoing. Reports cite that the building was not equipped with adequate fire alarms or easily accessible exits, allowing the fire to grow to dangerous levels with party-goers unable to escape.
As a rush of support came pouring in from the music industry, Brooklyn's own BEARCAT announced a fundraiser to aid the victims and families affected by this devastating accident, taking place at Sisters on December 7.
The event will feature artists Venus X, Via App, Riobamba and SHYBOI, hosted by Discwoman, Chromat and more. All proceeds will be donated to YouCaring, a charity fund set up by Gray Area Foundation for the Arts with a focus on the victims.
