Australia's first pill testing operation expected to take place this weekend
Positive steps forward for harm minimisation in the country
Australia's first pill testing operation is expected to take place on Sunday (April 29) at Groovin' The Moo festival in Canberra.
Promoter Cattleyard has given independent group STA-SAFE the green light to conduct the operation, which had received support from the Australian Capital Territory government and the University of Canberra, where the festival will be held.
Last year, a proposed trial at Canberra festival Spilt Milk was cancelled the night before the event amid claims of political pressure on that promoter from within the conservative federal government.
