A 16-step sequencer from Pioneer and Dave Smith Instruments is coming soon
The Toraiz SP-16 will be out this summer
Pioneer DJ and Dave Smith Instruments have linked up for a hardware sampler, combining elements of the old and new.
The Toraiz SP-16, due this summer at a cost of £1279, and the first piece of production gear from Pioneer, is touch screen and comes with Dave Smith analogue filters. Samples can also be uploaded via a USB stick, with the 16-step sequencer able to hold up to 8GB of files and create a maximum of 256 patterns.
It's a nifty piece of kit for DJs, as when connected to Pioneer CDJs, everything is automatically synced to play in time.
With a seven-inch display screen, you're able to see full descriptions of each of the samples you're using, with no need for a laptop when playing out.
