Ten tracks from Sven Väth's set at Cocoon LDN that confirm he's the king
The undisputed king of techno brought the fire to London
When it comes to electronic music, there aren't many DJs in the game who are as prolific, well-loved and genuinely astonishing as Sven Väth. The German kingpin has achieved just about everything there is to achieve and for 30 years he's managed to excite, educate and transport with every set.
Of course his Cocoon residency in Ibiza is still going strong and this year marked his 16th season on the Isle, one that saw him bring the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Zip, Adam Beyer, Dixon and DJ Koze to Amnesia.
Although Väth's season only ended last week, it was time for Sven to pack his extensive record collection and head to London for another Cocoon spectacular. Taking place at the majestic Studio 338, he brought along Dana Ruh, Seb Zito and Carola Pisaturo and they all delivered the business. It was Sven and his four hours of power however that got us really worked up.
Once again the don dada laid down a seamless marathon set, moving from plodding tech-house to mind-bending techno with some party bangers thrown in for good measure. With a vinyl-onyl selection you'd be forgiven for thinking the whole thing was mixed on Traktor, it was that fucking smooth.
There were some absolutely cracking tunes and as always we've collected the best of the bunch for you so sit back and enjoy ten magical moments from king Sven Väth's London adventure. Note that he played two versions of 'Strandbar' by Todd Terje, sandwiched between chunky house and rolling techno. Straight Euphoria.
