What are some of the most noticeable differences you've felt as an artist between London and LA?

This is one thing people still can’t believe about me... Once I started making music, I would only listen to what I made. It’s part of why I think I have this unique sound that people can’t replicate. The biggest difference was just having friends to listen to instead of just my own, even though I still do listen to mostly my own, and taking inspirations from the wild and crazy experiences I had once I moved to America.

Another interesting thing about you is that you’re quite young compared to the average age of producers in electronic music. Do you think that affects your career or your music making process?

The main thing I get is surprise when people realize I’m only 19 and make a certain type of music. It makes me happy, like they think that I’m older than I am.

Some people don’t take what I say seriously because of my age. They wave me off like I’m just a kid, like I have to do or experience this and that before I can have a certain opinion. I’m very aware for my age - aware of all of the things that affect me. I know the message I’m trying to get across with my music.

For those who might not be familiar with your music, how would you describe it?

Bouncy. Emotional, but light-hearted? It feels welcoming. I have a hard time explaining it because I don’t really know what it is anymore. It can be sad, happy, angry… honestly, everything. Just depends on the mood I’m in and if I can accurately convey that in a song.
