2023 marks 40 years since the dawn of Mixmag, and we’ve come together with London’s Outernet to celebrate in style. Launching on November 10, Mixmag is showcasing a full 360-degree immersive exhibition at Outernet’s Now Building, right in the heart of central London. The wall-to-wall gallery is displaying four decades worth of Mixmag covers, journeying through the history of dance music and club culture over the years - and it’s all for a great cause. We’re raising funds for CALM, the mental health charity helping to save lives each day.

Mixmag’s 40th exhibition is an all-encompassing photo gallery guiding you through 40 years worth of covers that tell the history of nightlife, from the birth of acid house to the rise of superstar DJs, from the early disco and warehouse raves to the global festivals and arenas, dating back to our first ever cover with Shalamar in 1983. Other covers that appeared as part of the exhibition included the likes of Madonna, Carl Cox, Andrew Weatherall, Fatboy Slim, Aaliyah, Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Honey Dijon, Björk, Peggy Gou, and Gorillaz. The gallery also features a range of DJ sets shot and produced by Mixmag over the years, all displayed on the world’s largest LED screen deployment in London’s West End.

Check out some of the covers on show at Mixmag’s 40th anniversary exhibition at Outernet below.
