Ain't no stopping: 9 DJs reveal their favourite Ibiza afterparties
Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber and Richy Ahmed are a few we spoke to
Carl Cox
"I did an afterparty with Loco Dice about two years ago in a villa overlooking Es Vedra. This was looking to be the official afterparty but eventually it got shut down. It went from about 5am until 7am with around four or five hundred people. That was probably one of the nicest afterparties I've done because it had nothing to do with what I play at Space, DC-10 or Music On at Amnesia. You can play some really epic stuff you don't really get to play.
"As cool as afterparties are, some people can get over excited. There was a guy who poured half a pint of lager over the CD player without even realising. Once he noticed the music had gone off, he realised he was ruining the party! It was funny at one stage but if we only had one CD player, there would have been no mixing!"

"My favourite afterparty was last summer at a Project London rave in a secret cove near Cala Vadella. We were driving around in the middle of nowhere for what felt like hours trying to find it, when all of a sudden we rounded a corner and nearly drove straight into a convoy of cars all parked up at the edge of a cliff. You had to walk down some ridiculously steep steps before you reached the beach and a few of us nearly stacked it on the way down. The party was already kicking off with a huge soundsystem and a bar set up. The surroundings were breathtaking and the music from the Project London crew was ace. There's a real workers' community in Ibiza so it was so good to see all the workers raving together after a long nights graft. As the sun came up a beautiful rainbow appeared before melting into the middle of the sea. Everyone just stopped dancing to watch it: a proper Ibiza moment! The worst part was climbing back up those steps after raving in a cove for 10 hours. Not cool but definitely worth it!"

Richy Ahmed
"My best afterparty was after Paradise about two years ago. It was on a warship just outside Es Vedrà and went on for about 18 hours. It had a pool, a wicked soundsystem and its own bedrooms. We were going to have to close it down at one time because the fuel cost was so high. But then Naomi Campbell came on so, in the end, there were about six or seven of us that paid for more fuel. It was pretty surreal.
"Me, Jamie [Jones], wAFF and Luca C all played. Cara Delevingne was another celebrity who was there, too. It was a mission to get to so it separated the wheat from the chaff. One surreal moment was when I was playing and Jamie was coming over to the ship on a speedboat when the sun was setting! It was pretty bizarre."
