Earlier this year Mykki Blanco unexpectedly quit the music game, saying she did not find being a rapper "fascinating" (quote marks hers). Now she's back, starting afresh and in more visceral a mood than ever at the helm of Dogwood Music Group and 'C-ORE', a compilation project featuring herself, Psychoegyptian, Violence and Yves Tumour. "People all over the world are only fed this singular image of 'African American Music'" she says, "and we want to disrupt that." 'Histrionic II' is one of three powerful tracks by Yves Tumour on the album, a noise sandpapering that's vicious and cathartic. It's the tip of the iceberg from a crew channeling a frenetic energy that's about to explode.
