A Whitney Houston biopic is being made
The film, titled I Wanna Dance With Somebody, has been approved by the Houston Estate
A biopic about the life of Whitney Houston is in the works, with the blessing of the Houston Estate.
The feature film is currently titled I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and Stella Magie is signed up to direct.

Producer Clive Davis set the idea in motion, initially approaching Bohemian Rhapsody’s screenwriter Anthony McCarten. It is set to be produced in partnership with the Houston Estate, with Pat Houston signed up as a producer, alongside Denis O’Sullivan and Primary Wave Music’s Larry Mestel.
In a statement, Davis said: “From all my personal and professional experience with Whitney from her late teenage years to her tragic premature death, I know the full Whitney Houston story has not yet been told,
“I am so glad that Anthony McCarten has committed to a no holds barred, musically rich screenplay that finally reveals the whole Whitney whose vocal genius deeply affected the world while she fiercely battled the demons that were to be her undoing.”
