Vinyl sales have increased by 108% since the beginning of 2021
Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar's albums are amongst the highest selling vinyl records
The vinyl resurgence continues as it has been found that 19.2 million vinyl albums were sold in the first half of 2021 - increasing 108% from last year.

In the first half of 2020, 9.2 million vinyl records were sold - a fraction of the amount from the beginning of this year, signalling a huge resurgence for the format. Vinyl sales have also outperformed CD sales, which stood at 18.9 million in the first half of this year.
Harry Styles’ ‘Fine Line’, Billie Eilish’s ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ and Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Good Kid M.A.A.D City’ are amongst the top-selling vinyl of the year so far.
Streaming has also increased by 15% in the past 6 months.

Vinyl pressing facilities are finding it difficult to keep up with this demand - with delayed vinyl releases becoming the norm for many musicians.
