Mysterious new venue from Village Underground team to open in Barcelona

Village Underground Barcelona is set to launch next month with a strict no-photo policy, meaning only attendees will be able to get a glimpse inside.

The new venue is the brainchild of Sergio Garcia Blanco and Javier Echevarría Bermeosolo, former team members of London's Village Underground, and is located within the burgeoning Cultural District of L'Hospitalet de Llobrega on the outskirts of the Catalan capital.

There will be no imagery available of the venue ahead of its launch on April 18, with a representative from Village Underground Barcelona giving Mixmag a sneak peek via a line-drawing rendition showing the layout of the venue.

Described as a "multi-functional cultural venue", VU Barcelona is said to be spread across 1,400m² and three floors, and will consist of "two distinct event spaces", an expansive open-air patio and "VU Studios" — which will house a professional-grade recording studio "dedicated to fostering young talent", as well as a community co-working space.
