Vestax founder re-establishes the company

Vestax founder Hidesato Shiino is re-establishing the company, which previously went bankrupt in 2014, with a range of new products planned for release.

He made the annoucenement in a blog post on the website of his PACO1997 guitar repair shop.

A new mixer, rebranded as STP/VESTAX, is on the way first in March 2016, with a power amplifier, turntable, SP system, signal devices and pre-amplifiers to follow.

Shiino also went into detail on his initial departure from the company in 2002 and its decline thereafter, revealing that he became disillusioned by the emphasis on money over innovation, noting that manufacturers now mostly pump out poor quality, disposable products.

The same issue caused a number of skilled staff members to leave the company three years later, contributing to its eventual dissolution in December 2014 as standards continued to slip.

Shiino pointedly remarked in the post: "Upon the company closing, a check was made on product-quality, and was found to be quite inferior when compared with the 2002 output."

STP/VESTAX will release its gear in small runs of around 10 – 20 units per month directly to consumers, with Shiino outlining that large-scale manufacturing is not currently an option.
