US singer and producer underscores has apologised to fans for not having a "full production" at her recent show in Houston, Texas, and accused the venue of misogyny.

Just hours before she was due to head on stage at Houston venue Meow Wolf on Saturday, June 6, underscores claimed in an Instagram story that the venue was unable to accommodate her normal level of production for reasons beyond her control.

underscores, real name April Harper Grey, is currently on tour across the US following the release of her third album ‘U’, which landed in late March.

"We won’t have full production tonight as the venue can’t accommodate it," she claimed (via NME). "They’ve honestly been very difficult to work with and have either been rude, misogynistic to my team or just don’t know what’s going on."

She said that she was "still doing the show as planned, but wanted to apologise in advance", adding that the venue's general staff had been "very nice and accommodating", and that the problem stemmed from "upper management".

Yesterday, June 8, underscores announced that she was cancelling all of her September tour dates to feature as a special guest on Charli xcx's new 'Music, Fashion, Film' tour across North American arenas.

She confirmed that fans who bought tickets would be issued refunds, and promised that she "will be back soon". She's due to head to the UK and Europe later this year.
