TSHA takes the reigns on next fabric presents mix

Mixmag cover star TSHA is set to take over the next fabric presents compilation, due out on May 6.

Just a month after the news of Leon Vynehall’s forthcoming mix in the same series due out later next month, fabric has now announced the next edition from DJ and producer TSHA.

TSHA first appeared on Bonobo’s 2019 fabric presents compilation with the track ‘Sacred’, which also marked the first edition to the series. Now coming full circle, TSHA will present her own compilation with a handful of exclusive tracks.

The first exclusive track from TSHA, ‘BOYZ’, is out now. The bass-heavy track sums up the club space and sound, according to the producer, who said: “I’m mashing lots of elements together and it has a big sound. It reminds me of fabric.”

TSHA’s fabric presents mix features a range of club music with genres spanning UKG, acid house, soul, grime, and disco. “I was trying to take it back to core dance music, which is about escapism and fun and connecting with people,” she said on the mix.

With tracks from Jacques Greene, Posthuman, Elkka, Tom VR, Sally C, and more, several exclusive singles will also be thrown into the mix.

Ryan Clover’s ‘Velvet Lace Dream State’, Jeran Portis’ ‘Unproven’, and Aspect’s ‘Norf’ will all premiere on the compilation via fabric’s label, as well as TSHA’s own exclusive track.

"I really wanted to introduce people to artists they'd never heard of before and make it a platform, just like Bonobo did for me. He made people aware of me,” she said.

“A lot of the artists featured are ones who’ve randomly sent me music and they’ve always had an amazing reception, but some of them no one really knows about yet,” she added, saying the concept for the mix is “very acid house”.

TSHA’s compilation will also pay homage to fabric as a club with influence from old skool rave culture. “The ethos around peace and love as well as the aesthetic that comes with it, so that's what I wanted to bring with the mix,” she said.

“Lots of old skool vibes, which is the reason dance music exists – to break down barriers and bring people together.”

fabric presents TSHA is out on May 6. Pre-order it here, and listen to 'BOYZ' below.
