Trevino (Mosca remix)
Cranky techno on Birdie
With over a year gone since Trevino launched his label Birdie, the Manchester producer, aka Marcus Intalex, has presented a wealth of tough, brooding techno tracks.
From the label boss' 'To The Core' on the first release, to Causa's 'Rotation' on the second and, thirdly, Endian's 'People'.
Things are different for the fourth, 'Birdie #04', as this one features a variety of artists, including Manchester producer Nick Sinna, Sideways (a collaboration between Trevino and DJ Lee), Adam Pék and Cory James and Mosca (pictured), who reinvents Trevino's 'Playtime'.
Imagery of a hospital's immediately created on Mosca's remix, kicking off with those dreaded heart monitor bleeps, before the entrance of cranks and tin-sounding tumbles provide the real darkness. There is some light, though, thanks to a shimmering synth perfect for that eyes-to-the-ceiling club moment.
'Birdie #04' is released on September 11
