Michael is set for release on April 24, 2026, and follows Jackson’s journey “from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fuelled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world,” per a synopsis.
“Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before,” the description continues.
The biopic features the US singer’s real nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in his film debut, as well as Colman Domingo and Nia Long as Jackson’s parents, and Miles Teller as John Branca, an entertainment lawyer and manager.

Teller recently addressed confusion of his role in the film, revealing on Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast that many believed he was playing Michael Jackson as the starring role.
Work on the film began in late 2019, directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan. The biopic was originally set for release this year, but was pushed back.
